The United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the sports of hang gliding, paragliding, and speed flying in the United States. Founded in California and now based in Colorado Springs, USHPA is led by a professional Executive Director and a volunteer Board of Directors. The board includes eight elected members serving two-year terms and two appointed members serving one-year terms, with annual officer elections each January.
Our national office staff manage day-to-day operations, delivering programs that support pilots, instructors, and the free flight community - membership services, training and certification, event coordination, chapter support, financial oversight, and technology solutions.
